    Help us in Indy!

We need a pit crew! Would you like to support PAHPM and connect with current, interested and future members?

PAHPM will again have a Constituent Organization (CO) Booth in the CO Central Section of the Exhibit Hall in Indianapolis.  We need your help staffing the booth, whether it be just for an hour or longer.  It's easy, fun, and a great way to connect with other PAs interested in and already working in serious-illness care.  There's nothing like meeting that PA who realizes, "what, there's a group of people doing what I do?!?"

Please select a time slot that works with your conference schedule.  Again, we'd love to see you there if you can spare an hour or even more!  You'll have support from a board member, sign up and start connecting!

Once we compile a list, we will reach out with more details.

    Help Move PCHETA Forward!

Next week, the Senate plans to introduce the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA) legislation previously passed in the House.  There is hope that this could be the year it gets passed.  This bill will help train and expand the HPM workforce, including PAs.  Please visit the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine Advocacy Action Center for links to review the legislation and to contact your congressional leaders and share your support.

PAHPM has joined our other coalition partners in support of this, and remain active in moving this important piece of legislation forward.

    Hospice Questions? Confused?!?

    We've Got Answers!

Many of you have reached out to us for clarification about how PAs can interface with hospice. Please visit our PAHPM Education Page on Hospice Resources and a new Video with some discussion of what exactly PAs can do, and cannot do nationally.  While your state may still vary in hospice statutes and regulations, this is a place to start to understand what Medicare/CMS will allow.

United with this information, we can hopefully continue to make progress.  The momentum is there and building!
